1.) Why create a company that sells fruitcake when so many people say they hate it?
The majority of people who say they hate fruitcake have eaten commercially prepared products that contain strange, small, hard square substances. These icky bits, and the overall dearth of fruit and general dryness turn people off. However, once a person has eaten a moist fruit cake pumped with brandy, they change their minds.
2.) Are your fruitcakes available in the United States?
No, unfortunately this product is only available in Canada. Pity.
3.) Is your fruitcake considered light or dark?
It is considered a light fruitcake.
4.) Because your fruitcakes contain chocolate, are they perishable?
No, due to the sugar in the cake and the brandy added once it’s baked, it will keep, if well-wrapped, for a long time. If kept in the fridge, it will certainly last for a few years, however, no one has been able to keep any of this cake around for longer than about two days. It is only because I store and date my product that I know how long it can be kept.
5.) Are you licensed and inspected?
Yes. I have an inspection certificate as well as a business license and bake in a commercial kitchen. As a condition of this, I have completed a course in Food Safe.
